People of Goilala and Koiari in the Central Province make their incomes in selling of fresh fish collected from the rivers and swamps of nearby villages in their remote areas.
Goilala and Koiari are the largest group of people living outside and inside Port Moresby City and they are under the Central Provincial Government.
They have occupied big area even in National Capital District.
They have many special ways to make their money in business wises.
The very special ways to make money are;
Selling of fresh fish
Betal nut (BUAI)
DAKA
Lime (KAMBANG)
All kinds of food crops
Fire woods and more.
Especially for selling of fresh fish in a day, a person or a family collects more than a hundred and make sure that all the fish must be sold that day only.
To collect more fish, they normally woke up at 4:00 am and walk down to their respective areas and starts thrown their nets, hooks and other fishing matterials.
From there around 12pm to 1pm they ended fishing process and prepare to make their way up to the main high ways to catch PMV bus or dyna trucks.
In other ways, they contributs to higher a vehicle to drop them at main town markets where there is many people there to buy their fresh fish faster.
In fact the people of Goilala and Koiari have 10% business people but they have lots of money for daily use only.
Selling of Betal nut (BUAI), DAKA and Lime (KAMBANG) are also daily making money products for the people of Goilala, Koiari and other coastal area in Central Province.
Goilala people are good at selling of fresh fish from the swamps and rivers, garden foods and firewoods to make their money every day.
Koiari is located on the mountainouse place from the east of Port Moresby or far from the coastal areas but they are great producers of Betal nut (BUAI), DAKA, fresh fish from their beautiful river call, "Sogeri" and fresh garden foods.
People from the Coasts have their own way of producing their staple food and prducts of making money.
Like;
fish from the sea,
crabs and shells
betal nuts (BUAI),
lime (KAMBANG),
DAKA
coconut and bananas.
The people lived in Costal areas are also from Central Province in the Southern Region but they are different from Goilala and Koiari but produced same products of making money or family use and consumptions.
