What a lovely Trobriand Girls...
The Trobriand Island group of girls who lived around Port Moresby city are displaying and performing their cultural style of dancing.
They wouldn't be 10s but more than hundreds of girls must be prepared to dress in own traditional skirts made of PURPUR (poo-rr-poo-rr) grass.
PURPUR grass is collected from swamps. They cut them and dried them up and beaten them with stone or stick and will become soft and smooth.From there, they tie them up with rope and cut them in the same level to make no differences.
Finally, they must be painted in same pattern and used in time of any events like this.
Our traditional decorations or BILAS (bee-laas) attracts our tourists more pleasantly.
The specific time in Port Moresby and all parts of Papua New Guinea are every 16th September in every year.
Thats the time of celebrating our independence day.
